hearing aid battery sizes. Common battery sizes are 10, 13, 312 and
675. To identify zinc air hearing aid batteries the size, manufacturers use an industry standard color code system.
Color Coding System
Size 10 (or 230) yellow dot
Size 312 brown dot
Size 13 orange dot
Size 675 blue dot
Many times Manufacturers will place letters before or after
the battery size that designates its factory reorder number. For example, 13A or
R13ZA are both size 13 batteries.
How long will my batteries
last?
The life of your hearing aid batteries is determined by the type of hearing aid you have and the number of hours you wear your aid. If you would like an estimation of battery life for you, please feel free to contact us.
How should
I store my batteries?
When storing your batteries you should store them at room temperature, avoid storing batteries in heat as it will shorten the batteries life and refrigeration is not recommended.
Batteries should never be carried in a pocket or
purse since metal objects like coins or keys can short out a
battery.
When storing or discarding hearing aid batteries you should place them in a location out of reach by infants. If a battery is swallowed, see a doctor
immediately. For recommended treatment, call the National Button Battery Hotline
collect at 202-625-3333.
What is the tab on my
zinc battery for?
Since zinc air batteries use air outside of the battery as a source of power, this tab seals the air holes in the battery to insure freshness until you are ready to start using the battery.
Do not remove the tab until you are ready to use the battery.
When you are ready to use the battery simply remove the tab and wait about a minute or two to activate the hearing aid before inserting the battery in your hearing aid. This will allow sufficient time for the air to activate the ingredients inside the battery.
Replacing the tab when the battery is not in use will not extend the battery life.
What
exactly is Zinc Air? Zinc Air hearing aid batteries are the most popular power
system. Through a unique construction that uses outside air air, the Zinc Air batteries pack more energy into a battery cell compared to the older mercury and silver systems.
With zinc air hearing aid batteries, you can expect overall hearing aid use improvements such as less
battery replacements, clearer tones, less volume adjustments, and longer
battery life.
Are batteries
interchangeable among manufacturers? Hearing Aid battery manufacturers have different battery quality and performance, however
the battery sizes are standardized througout the industry. For example, size 13 batteries across manufacturers should fit in your hearing aid. Just make sure to match the color coded battery size to the size of batteries your hearing aid requires.
