***Canal Hearing Aid Accessories

The Canal Aid term for custom built or stock hearing aids refers to the size of the hearing aid itself only. We carry many different types of circuits, or electronics; from the basic analog to the high end digital technology, and they are available from almost any of the major manufacturers. We are well versed and experienced in all of the latest hearing aid industry developments.

Custom Canal Hearing Aids are made to the exact size and shape of a person's ear. This size hearing aid is small compared to other sizes of the In-The-Ear hearing aids. This size hearing aid carries a lesser cost than the C.I.C. hearing aids but more than the larger Full-Shell/Half-Shell hearing aids. These hearing aids are appropriate for hearing losses that range from mild, moderate, and moderate-to-severe (including high-frequency losses). We will match the power and frequency of the circuit that is installed in Canal hearing aids, to a person's specific needs. That is why there are no output specifications associated with Canal hearing aids. they are individually made and the output will vary greatly.

Since these hearing aids are custom fitted to the user's ear, they will provide a good airtight seal (we also carries stock fit hearing aids). This 'air tightness' is a major factor when reducing possible feedback or whistling problems. This is a highly popular size hearing aid for middle-of-the-road type of hearing problems when people hear all right, but just can't understand what's being said.....when it sounds like that people are mumbling and their words are just not distinct. These hearing aids normally use the size #312 batteries (and rarely the smaller #10's). The faceplates (the part that shows) on these hearing aids are usually about the size of a dime. Most of these hearing aids are vented for help in reducing occlusion (the feeling of 'talking in a barrel').

Special Instructions for Custom In-The-Ear Instrument Orders:
When your order is received, we will send you a FREE impression kit. It is very easy to make an impression(cast) of your ear... over the years tens of thousands of our customers have done this. Another option is if you have an older instrument that fits well, we can use that hearing aid for the impression. Either of these is necessary for custom-fitted hearing aids. If you have an audiogram (from a hearing test) it would be very helpful if you provided a copy of it to us, but is not necessary.
